[My tribute to Anthony and his return home! Click here to see his homecoming Present! More quits can be seen here.]

Now that The Crisis in Kosovo is in full swing, and they have deployed Anthony for support of Task Force Hawk all plans are put on hold. This will be the page I put up all information I am able to release....if it's on CNN, it will be here. :P Also, when I get any pictures from Anthony.....don't know when yet.....I will put them up here too.

These articles appeared the Stars and Stripes. I thought you would get a kick out of them. :)

Muddy Mission

If you are a soldier who is heading to Albania, you can look forward to some dirty duty. Just listen to the troops who are already there at "Camp Mud Hawk".

What they are saying

*"The Army has running water. It runs from one side of the tent to the other."
*"I'm on my sixth day. Don't stand too close."
*"We've gone from austere to spartan and we're working our way to rustic."
*"Embrace the suck."
*"The babes in Hollywood pay to put this mud on their faces and we get it for free."

What they are recommending:

* Wet-weather boots that are two sizes larger than your boot size.
* Anti-bacterial lotions.
* Extra wet-wipes or baby wipes. Right now, there are no showers or running water.
* A plastic wash basin or a silver mixing bowl. It can be used for washing yourself and your clothes.
* Clothespins, washline and small bags of laundry detergent.
* Extra plastic bags. Every piece of clothing should be waterproofed; ziplock freezer bags are recommended.
* A sleeping bag that's in a waterproof bag. And be sure to line your
green dufflebag with a trash bag.
* Snacks, cards, CD player and radios.
* Foot powder.
* A folding stool to use as a table.
* Toilet brush to clean boots.
* Two or three pairs of boots and extra laces.
* A waterproof disposable camera.
* A piece of carpet to put under your bed so you can step on something dry while you dress.
* Mosquito netting and repellent.
* Your sense of humor.

~~Freedom Is Not Free~~

I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze
A young Soldier saluted it, and then
He stood at ease.
I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years?
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers' tears?
How many pilot's planes shot down?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No Freedom is not Free
I heard the sound of Taps one night,
When everything was still
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill
I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant "Amen"
When a flag had draped a coffin
Of a brother or a friend
I thought of all the children
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives
I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington
No Freedom is not Free!!
