Comment: April 2005 On April 1st, 2005, Kelly Deming was strangled to death by her husband--just 2 doors down from us. In essence, her 2 little boys are now orphans. Their mother gone, and their father charged with murder. I don't know why, but I feel compelled to create comfort quilts for these two boys. One is aged 5, the other 9. I hope they can find some solace in these quilts. They were made by me, but the fabric love and compassion comes from quilters around the country.

littleboy.close * April 2005
Closeup of the front and back. This one I hope, goes to the 5 year old. There are more fabrics for younger boys in this one. I know, I messed up a bit on the backing. The quilt top was a few inches larger than the width of the backing. I had to make the backing in pieces.

The front is made with cotton 6 inch completed squares, 7 across and 7 down.
The backing is a flannel print of robots and space ships.
There is no batting. I figured with the hot climate of Florida, the flannel backing should suffice.
It is bordered and binded by a blue marble cotton.
It is tied with Lion's Brand bright multi-colored yarn. * 500 x 375 * (76KB)
